100 THINGS ABOUT ME

  1. I was born in Montreal, Canada
  2. 2 years later my parents, my brother and I moved to Collonges-sous-Salève, France
  3. A few years later we moved to Switzerland, first to Sierre, in the canton of Valais
  4. Than to Renens, in the canton of Vaud
  5. A couple years later we moved back to Quebec, namely Greenfield Park in the suburbs of Montreal
  6. Then we moved to Trois-Rivières, still in Quebec
  7. I decided I wanted to go to highschool in the US, went to Union Springs Academy in upstate New York
  8. Where I spent my sophomore, junior and senior years
  9. After that I went to Cegep in Trois-Rivières, both in Sciences Humaines and Interior Design
  10. I decided to move back to Switzerland to finish my Interior Design degree at a HES of Geneva
  11. After that I worked for nine months as a temp and then starting working for Serono, a biotech company
  12. I stayed there for 3 years as an Administrative Assistant
  13. After 5 years in Switzerland I started dating an American high school boyfriend and decided to move back to Canada to be closer to him
  14. I did one year at the University of Montreal doing a certificate in Managing Digital Information
  15.  After my year there I moved to the US and got married with my high school boyfriend
  16. We got married last summer, on the hottest day ever
  17. We went on honeymoon to South Carolina
  18. I absolutely loved Charleston
  19. If I could I'd love to move there
  20. Although I think I would even prefer moving back to Geneva
  21. While in Europe I visited some of France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, England, Germany and Switzerland of course
  22. Always wanted to go to Greece, Ireland and the island of Majorca and the other islands around
  23. I have an older brother
  24. His name is Christian
  25. He has two daughters that are cute and adorable
  26. Their names are Alix and Naomi
  27. He lives in Montreal with his partner
  28. Her name is Sylvia
  29. I love to read
  30. Used to read mostly Sci-Fi/Fantasy
  31. Now it's mostly books on knitting, written by knitters or having something to do with knitting¨
  32. Knitting is my new passion
  33. Im pretty sure I learned how to knit when I was a child, but I forgot
  34. My grandmother has been knitting for as long as I remember
  35. But I dont think she ever thaught me how to knit
  36. I started knitting about 5 months ago
  37. My friend taught me
  38. The first few days were tough,
  39. I felt like tossing my yarn and needles on the floor
  40. Now I only feel like that when my yarn keeps on breaking
  41. I'd like to be able to learn a new skill every week
  42. Be it a new casting on method, a new stitch pattern or learning how to pick up stitches
  43. So far Im not doing so bad but I'm sure some weeks I wont learn anything new
  44. I want to learn how to felt
  45. But I dont have a washing machine at home
  46. And I feel bad about potentially plugging up my mother-in-law's washing machine
  47. But I plan to start felting before the end of the year
  48. I plan to knit for the rest of my life
  49. And to teach my kids how to knit
  50. And maybe even my husband!
  51. I learned how to play the piano when I was a child
  52. I played for about 6 months
  53. I also played the recorder in a group for a couple years
  54. I sang in choirs both in Quebec and Switzerland
  55. I love singing in choirs
  56. Havent been in a choir since I moved back to North America
  57. I love cats
  58. I love a cat that purrs a lot and wants to cuddle
  59. I wouldnt like my cat to want to eat my yarn and get it all tangled
  60. The problem is that I'm allergic to cats
  61. But I still want a cat
  62. I've set my eyes on owning a Ragdoll cat
  63. I've even found a couple breeders in the area for when we can afford to buy one
  64. I'm not so much of a dog person
  65. But my husband is
  66. So we'll probably end up having cats and dogs
  67. I love pink
  68. But I'm sure you already knew that
  69. I didnt always love pink
  70. It sort of started after I moved to Switzerland
  71. I dont like yellow and orange and do not like any of the peachy-salmony colors
  72. I wear some green and some blue, but not a whole lot
  73. I do own a quite a few neutrals, like black, white and beiges
  74. I hate the cold,
  75. If I could I'd live in a warm place all year long
  76. I dont like AC, unless its in my bedroom on a hot summer night
  77. I like hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing
  78. I hiked up Mount Washington about a year and a half ago
  79. I used to go indoor climbing with my friends back in Geneva
  80. I really loved it
  81. We were about to start going climbing outdoors when I left
  82. My favorite TV shows are CSIs, Bones, NCIS and Amazing Race
  83. I really would like to participate in Amazing Race
  84. But I think that I would get really cranky
  85. I get cranky if I dont get enough sleep, food or if I cant go to the bathroom when I need to
  86. So Id probably get cranky a lot!
  87. I love watching design shows on HGTV, Style Network and TLC
  88. I am a really big fan of IKEA
  89. My appartment in Geneva was 95% IKEA
  90. Here its a little less, but getting there
  91. I subscribe to these magazines:
  92. Domino (design), Real Simple and Woman's Day
  93. I like to read my huband's Wired and Men's health magazines
  94. I'm a big fan of The Lord of the Rings
  95. I even own The Lord of the Rings editions of Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit
  96. I've read the books about a dozen times
  97. I love cooking,
  98. I own probably just under 50 cookbooks
  99. But I definitely prefer baking, mostly anything that has to do with chocolate
  100. I really love chocolate
