I'm going to be away for a couple weeks. My grandmother from Switzerland passed away last night. I learned yesterday evening that she'd had a heart attack. This morning I was told that she'd died during the night.
She's the woman on the left. The man is my grandfather and I'm in my mother's arms at 6 weeks. The cute little boy is my brother.
She was my last grandparent still alive and I always thought I'd see her again in a few months on my next trip to Switzerland. I guess I was wrong. Give your grandparents lots of hugs next time you see them!
I'll be back a few days before Christmas.

I'm so sorry Val. The love lives on, even though the physical body is gone. Hang on to that.

I'm so sorry about your grandma. I know you were looking forward to seeing her next summer. Please have a safe/relaxing/celebrating-grandma's-life/full-of-knitting/family time/maybe-a-little-shopping trip to Switzerland. I'll talk to you when you (and I) get back!

Sorry to hear of your loss. My Grandmother passed about 30 years ago. I still remember her. She made the best mittens in the world. I'm trying to continue her wonderful gift, mittens for Grandchildren.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I hope your travels are safe and uneventful. My maternal grandmother (who died in 1986) was the most wonderful person. She crocheted a lot and she taught me so patiently even though she didn't speak much English. I'm sure she was waiting for your grandma with open arms. :)
